Who they are
Camp Fire Sunshine helps youth dig deep inside and discover their “sparks,” their personally defined nuggets of potential. Helping a young person become who they want to be takes time and encouragement. It takes paying attention to what sparks a passion. At Camp Fire, that’s what they do. They listen, encourage, and provide the opportunity to uncover each young person’s unique interests. They help youth become the exceptional people they are destined to be, buoyant with potential to do anything they dream of doing.
Camp Fire Sunshine Central Florida can trace its roots in the greater Lakeland area back to 1918. They’re proud of their heritage of cultivating community building, supporting academic readiness, and embracing diversity.
What they did
Camp Fire Sunshine hosted a Kentucky Derby Party fundraising event with drinks, food, and fun activities for attendees to take part in while watching the Kentucky Derby races.
On their event page, Camp Fire Sunshine highlighted their multiple event sponsors on their event page by category, which made identifying all their sponsors easy. They ranked their sponsors by sponsorship category. The sponsors who gave the most were listed first, and the rest followed in descending order based on sponsorship categories. This highlights sponsors who supported the event most by placing them higher on the page than other sponsors.
The sponsorship categories were based on the Kentucky Derby, as this was a Kentucky Derby-themed fundraising event. The higher dollar categories were listed first to display those sponsors more prominently on the event page. Each sponsorship category following the Winner’s Circle category decreased in prominence on the webpage down to drink station, photo booth, and bourbon pull sponsors.
Despite the sponsorship hierarchy, every sponsor was prominently displayed on the main page of the Kentucky Derby Party event. This means every sponsor is visible within their own neatly displayed category. Camp Fire Sunshine even included links to sponsors’ websites for all their sponsors. This is a great way to promote those who made your event possible.
What you can do
To find success similar to the Kentucky Derby Party hosted by Camp Fire Sunshine, identify ways you can highlight your sponsors on your event page and at your event. Many people opt for the carousel feature to show off their sponsors. This works well for cycling through all the sponsors that make your event successful.
That said, Camp Fire Sunshine added value for top sponsors by opting not to use the carousel. Instead, their tiered approach to listing their sponsors made it clear who their top supporters were, which added visibility for sponsors and showed people in the community who most supported the Kentucky Derby event.
This customization was made possible thanks to drag and drop widgets available on Qgiv’s peer-to-peer event builder. Setting up the tiered sponsor list was as simple as dragging and dropping widgets where they wanted them and uploading sponsor logos in those widgets.
By listing sponsors similarly on your event pages, you can add value to your sponsorship packages by displaying sponsors in giving tiers.
