Scam Alert!

Have you been contacted by an overseas nonprofit asking for help raising money and/or processing donations? Be careful! This is most likely a scam targeting US nonprofits!

We’ve recently witnessed overseas nonprofits (or someone posing as nonprofits) asking US-based organizations to assist them in their fundraising efforts by processing their donations. These fraudulent organizations are basically saying, “Hey, we can give you donors and money if you’ll process the donations and send us a large percentage of it.” If an organization agrees and processes the donations, large amounts of chargebacks and fraud may occur and wind up costing the US organization quite a tidy sum.

Long story short — don’t do it! If you suspect you’re being contacted by a fraudulent organization, simply do not respond.
